Why Monitor ?

Increased Terminal Use

Monitoring enables loading to continue in marginal weather conditions in the knowledge that the design limits of the mooring are not being exceeded. This permits cost effective use of both the mooring and tankers.

Saves Hawser and Hose Replacements

Load monitoring reduces the risk of break out with consequent savings of hawser and hose replacement, pollution clean up and terminal down time.

Large Tankers

Monitoring permits a mooring to be uprated to accommodate larger tankers than originally specified.

Reduced Operating Costs

Operational practices have been developed which reduce hawser loads. This extends hawser life and rescues wear on the moorings.

Increased Safety

Operating within known safety margins improves safety for operations personnel, and benefits insurance costs.


Products cover all types of moorings and berths, and allow for remote monitoring plus control of valves and Emergency Shut Down where necessary.


 A monitoring system for Single Point Moorings. The system uses radio telemetry to send data to the terminal office and to the tanker bridge. Omega optionally controls subsea pipeline valves.


 Similair to Omega but monitors hawser strain on each flotation buoy of a Conventional Berth.


 Gives loading data on each mooring hook of a jetty mooring. Presenting the data at the jetty control room by radio or land line, Oyster also controls product transfer, quick release and ESD functions.


 Is for use on floating storage and process vessels FPSO to monitor tandem and side by side moorings and display data on the vessels bridge.


 Gives the pilot of the incoming tanker data on speed, distance and bearing to the moorings, to assist in the speedy and safe berthing of the vessel.
